Kitchen Sink Sprayer Smells Like Rotten Eggs

Oct 14, 2009 – Every time I use the sprayer on the kitchen sink it smells like rotten eggs for about 4-5 seconds, then it goes away. It doesn’t happen with the faucet, only the sprayer. There is likely mold or bacteria in the hose for the sprayer. The best solution would be to replace the sprayer since these are normally inexpensive.
Had noticed lately that there was an offensive odor in the kitchen sink area. When you first use it, the water has a bad odor but after about ten seconds of the. This smell is only coming from the sprayer and not from faucet. from the same sink, hot or cold. A sulfur/rotten egg smell has recently occurred in my kitchen sink.

Hi – i recently had a kitchen faucet installed with a sprayer and every time i use the sprayer. Sometimes new plastics smell funny, OK, not funny but downright rotten. Smelly plastic DOES smell like sour milk, good description.
